This year’s theme, “Off to the Races!,” showcased decor and attire reflect-ing the same fashions as those seen at auto and horse racing events, with a runway show featuring items from Vintage Values ReSale stores. There was a silent auction and raffle, with a lunch and dinner for all in attendance. This was the shelter’s largest yearly fundraiser, with all proceeds benefiting its programs to serve and protect victims of domestic violence. PHOTOS BY EMMY ERRANTE 50TH ANNIVERSARY GALA The Blockade Runner Beach Resort celebrated its 50th anniversary in high style with a black tie gala on March 29. More than 600 invited guests were welcomed into a redecorated lobby, served heavy hors d’oeuvres that featured crepes, carving and raw bar stations. In honor of the resort’s opening in 1964, Beatle Mania, a Beatles tribute band from New York, entertained the high-profile crowd. Dancing, dining and celebrating swept the night away.
